Vincent Willem van Gogh (March 30, 1853 - 29 July 1890) is a post-impressionist Dutch painter. The paintings and drawings, including works of art at its best, the most famous and most expensive in the world. Van Gogh is regarded as one of the greatest painters in European art history. He was the eldest of six brothers, sons of Protestant pastors in Groot Zundert, paintings representing posimpressionisme wing era of emotional spontaneity in painting. Vincent was a somber, nervous, and temperamental, but his knowledge is vast. It can be seen in the 700 letters sent to the most beloved brother, Theo, who also served as a manager. These letters were later published as a record of the life of Van Gogh in 1911.
In his youth Van Gogh worked in a company selling works of art, and after some time working as a teacher, he served as a missionary who works in a very poor mining region. At age 16, Vincent sent to study in The Hague to work on his uncle who is a partner of international companies that trade in works of art. There he studied painting at the Anton Mauve. After failing to deal with clients, he was sent to London and then moved his uncles place to another, until he surprised everyone in the ability of berkothbahnya. He also learned disebuah gospel training in Belgium, but in tinggalkannya to work as a preacher among the impoverished miners there.
At the age of 27 years, he found his true calling and returned to the Netherlands. He made a work that according to his humanity, the potato eaters (1885), a dark and gloomy, expressing sadness and poverty of people in his paintings. That same year, he enrolled at the art academy in Antwerp, Belgium. But he went on day two, after his teacher said that his brush strokes are too heavy. In this city he was influenced by Peter Paul Rubens painting style and Japanese painter named Hokusai (1760-1849).

Later, he and Theo went keParis in 1886. After that, Vincent moved to Arles, while Theo stayed and served to sell his paintings. Van Gouh left the bold brush strokes and the reality of morality. He decided to use bright colors in his paintings to express simbolime about the fields, trees and rural life such as Night Watch (1888) and Starry Night (1889). He then invited the painter Paul Gauguin to join. However, after they fight and Gauguin left, Van Gogh was very depressed.
Initially followed the typical painter of his time with impressionism style. But dissatisfaction with the restraints of artistic expression by the grip makes it impressionism turned on the style of expressionism. Vincent Van Gogh was diagnosed with severe epilepsy. Diagnosis is made by 2 different doctors who cared for him. Van Gogh also had to cut his own ear. At the end of his life, he felt himself to be mad and end up spending the rest of his life in hospital Soul of Saint Paul-de-Mausole in Saint-Remy-de-Provence, France. In R.S. Soul of Saint Paul-de-Mausole, he still paints.
Other sources say that the death of His brother finally sent her to the hospital the soul to rest. Van Gogh was quiet in the place and started painting again. Finally he came out and stayed in a hostel. Depression that has not lost a total make shot himself on July 27, 1890. He was discovered by the owner of the forest bungalow, and because it has not died, his brother was called. Two days later, Van Gogh died and was buried. After Theo's death, he was buried next to his brother. During his lifetime, Vincent Van Gogh only sold one painting, "Red Vineyard at Arles" (1889).
